New State, needs to be measured October 25, 2009

Government of Chhattisgarh is celebrating its eights birthday on 1st Nov’2009. After so many years of growth and development efforts it now the time to take a stock.
I think we should now act like a professionally managed organisation and measure the progress of the state. There were many dreams which made the craft of this new state out of the earstwhile Madhya Pradesh. Have we achieved all those? Are we on the track at least?
There is so much of a wealth under the land in the state, we need to ensure that we do all that is possible to effectivly and optimaly encash and exploit our natural resources for the social benefits. Yes the environmental concerns are of prime concern today lest it becomes an emergency tomorrow… hence can’t be ignored.
I suggest the state government hires an independent agency to get this audit done? This audit should not intend to point fingures at the governance but at the areas of improvement.
